I’m excited to introduce my children’s picture book A Story About Chronic Illness. Using my personal experience with a rare chronic condition along with my professional experience as an occupational therapist, I originally created this story as a resource for my son, Noah.

I wanted a story that would convey how my chronic pain impacts my daily life and how it varies daily without the content feeling intimidating or overwhelming to my son. The story I would recite to my son soon evolved into this gentle children’s book.

I hope that parents and caregivers find this book as a helpful resource to explain the nuance of living with a chronic condition as well as to help children understand that life with chronic illness is still .

Discover how Mommy, Boy, and the silly, ever-changing interact and navigate the special challenges that come with living with a chronic illness.
